The insurance of the electronic equipment covers the losses or damages suffered by the electronic equipment / computer and its support of data. Today electronic and digital components in machines and production lines form a main constituent part. Conventional insurance coverages of electrical damages or machine breakage do not sometimes cover common incidents that can reach these components. Damage can affect hardware as well as accidental erasure of configuration or programming data. This type of insurance can cover, in addition to material damage, the costs of reconstructing data following damage to computers or central units with the possibility of covering the conequences of interruptions of activity resulting from damage to the computer unit according to the nature of extention of the warranty. In the event of a roduction interruption, coverage may relate to increased labor costs, loss of revenue, or loss of gross profit.

Notice on the difference between Electronic Damage and Electrical Damage in Electrical Equipment
In several commercialized contracts, the exclusions from the electrical damage Warranty stipulates that the electronic components when the damage remains limited to a single interchangeable assembly are formally excluded from the guarantee.
This exclusion is introduced to decide on a case of strong nuance which is the case of the internal or external origin of the damage to the electronic modules. Intra-original claims of internal causes are covered by the Electronic Damage Warranty (or Machine Breakage), while the original claims of external causes related with the conditions of electric power  supply are covered by the Electrical Damage Warranty.

In excluding the electronic components in the electrical damage warranty, the specification of the condition of only (single) interchangeable assembly damaged in the disaster (all the disaster) is to eliminate the cases where the defects and the failure return to internal causes  (for example: electronic component failures in cards due to overheating, dust or poor quality or out of standard or other hidden defects ... ..). In this type of case, the defect appears in specific and unique modules in the damaged machines and in this type of disaster damage is generally limited to a single interchangeable set (electronic module) . The causes of the damage in this case come from the internal origins of the module and not from phenomena of current disturbances in the power supply of the machine, that is to say to electricity transmission defects which define the notion of electrical damage in the sense of insurance.
On the other hand, in electrical damage incidents (defined above), the damage in machines with electronic modules is not generally limited to a single module or interchangeable assembly (card, withdrawable module, ...) since the effect of current disturbances in the power supply of the machine generally affect several cards or modules and the damage therefore will not be limited to a single interchangeable assembly.
The specification of this condition in the electrical damage coverage exclusions is introduced to eliminate any ambiguity about the origin and causes and therefore the handling of damages of electronic modules in machines in declared claims of electrical damage.
